is a season-one episode of Columbo and is often maligned. While the series was early, still getting into their formula, they weren’t shy from the creepiness factor. “Dead Weight” never ranks on anyone’s most favorite list and gets virtual eggs thrown at it when the title is spoken. We take a look at this strangely pretentious episode.
It was the year 1990,
when “Columbo Goes to College” made its debut. Our favorite sleuth tracks down two college flunkies who murdered their professor who lost his own first and middle name. It was an era of hand-held surveillance cameras, CCTV technology, and wireless communications. Has this episode stood well against the test of time?
“Columbo Goes to the Guillotine”,
was the first Columbo episode I saw from beginning to end. Too young and too uninterested to watch Columbo on prime time NBC when it first aired, I was suckered into the nostalgia when Peter Falk returned to television on ABC. There is novelty about an iconic character stepping out from the 1970’s into 1989.
