Marvel can do no wrong,
with Doctor Strange. It’s pretty much a generic, no-surprise, CGI-festival set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Using the same tried, somewhat tired formulas, the box office is rewarding it with kudos and cash. Read more if you’re really curious. It’s pretty much the same thing you’re reading everywhere else.
“Suicide Squad”,
is a movie with so much potential. However, the “Deadpool effect” has inflicted casualties in the DC expanded universe. Its consequences come too easy after the flaws of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The cast of our favorite anti-heroes are outnumbered by the studio’s skittish marketing department and demographic specialists.
It’s an homage film.
My review of Ghostbusters (2016), a remake of the 1984 classic, will be terse. Unfortunately, its a reflection of our time where we are unable to express free will judgement without wrath from social warriors.
X-Men: Apocalypse,
is the season’s third attempt at super-hero/enhanced human/mutant cage matches. It’s a story where bad things happen, politicians are generals are ineffective, and enemies becomes friends.
Captain America: Civil War,
is something we’ve never seen before! A film bringing many superheroes together just to fight each other and their inner demons. It may be years or decades could we see anything like his before. Enough sarcasm, here’s a few rants about the spectacle in both spoiler-free and spoiled content.
Shake off the reviews,
take part of the showcase as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice enters the DC cinematic universe. Suffering from inferiority complex, BvS tries play catch up with a two and half-hour spectacle of explosions and Easter eggs. This movie is for fans of superheroes, but fair warning, this may not be the movie you were looking for. A spoiler-resistant review.

Reserving tickets for an early Saturday morning screening, I thought I could avoid the chaos on opening weekend. Unable to reserve IMAX seats anything better than second row, we chose the 2-D screening at a local theater just a 5 minute walk from home. Arriving 45-minutes early, we managed to get 4th row seats. When the lights dimmed and the trailers rolled, I was relieved we finally made it without any thing spoiled.

releases a minion-only movie for children and adults alike to enjoy! Was it too much or not enough?

otherwise known as Jurassic Park 4, is the latest blockbuster of the summer. It has dinosaurs, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, dinosaurs, an exotic location, witty one liners, and let us not forget, the dinosaurs!
Avengers: Age of Ultron,
is the first blockbuster super-hero, sequel, adaptation of 2015. It’s playing at your local cineplex this week and taking 3 out of every 4 theaters. It’s available on 2-D, 3-D, and 3-D IMAX. Sorry, no passes allowed. Read below for spoiler and spoiler-free review.
