Marvel can do no wrong,
with Doctor Strange.  It’s pretty much a generic, no-surprise, CGI-festival set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Using the same tried, somewhat tired formulas, the box office is rewarding it with kudos and cash.  Read more if you’re really curious.  It’s pretty much the same thing you’re reading everywhere else.

SuicideSquad2016
“Suicide Squad”,
is a movie with so much potential.  However, the “Deadpool effect” has inflicted casualties in the DC expanded universe. Its consequences come too easy after the flaws of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  The cast of our favorite anti-heroes are outnumbered by the studio’s skittish marketing department and demographic specialists.

take part of the showcase as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice enters the DC cinematic universe.   Suffering from inferiority complex, BvS tries play catch up with a two and half-hour spectacle of explosions and Easter eggs.   This movie is for fans of superheroes, but fair warning, this may not be the movie you were looking for.  A spoiler-resistant review.

StarWarsTheForceAwakens

A spoiler-free blog of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
Reserving tickets for an early Saturday morning screening, I thought I could avoid the chaos on opening weekend.  Unable to reserve IMAX seats anything better than second row, we chose the 2-D screening at a local theater just a 5 minute walk from home.  Arriving 45-minutes early, we managed to get 4th row seats.  When the lights dimmed and the trailers rolled, I was relieved we finally made it without any thing spoiled.
